I know it has been forever since I posted on my blog. Sometimes I wonder why I have a blog anymore, since I can't post very often. Between work and taking care of Jacob and Jason, I just don't have time to get on the computer at home. Jacob has discovered the CD-ROM drive on the computer, so I can't even sit by the computer without him trying to open the drive and pull on it. If he isn't trying to break my computer, he is trying to break the portable stereo on the floor (the computer is in the nursery). He already broke the antenna. As you can see, I have my hands full with a very inquisitive and somewhat destructive 13-month old! Yes, I have been so bad about blogging that Jacob's first birthday has come and gone without a post. Since I have a few minutes alone right now at work, I thought I would quickly write my first post since LSU won the championship. Jacob is not quite 13 months. He checked out great at his 1-year checkup. He weighs almost 23 lbs and is 30 inches tall. We ended up having to put tubes in his ears on Valentine's Day. The fluid in his ears just wouldn't drain--it had gotten too thick. He had quit trying to walk due to the fluid build-up and the pain from his first tooth coming in a couple weeks before. Needless to say, he was much better that very afternoon. He even started trying to walk again. I am sure you're next question is,"Is he walking now?" Well, not on his own yet. It's not far off, though. His preferred method of getting into trouble is scooting on his left thigh and butt. It is quite adorable. He's pretty darn fast, too. He hates to crawl. Jason thinks we need to get him some platform shoes because his 21 year old cousin didn't walk until his parents put platform shoes on him when he was 13 months old at the demand of his grandmother. I told him absolutely not!! Do they even make platform shoes for babies anymore?! He has two bottom teeth now, and the top two central incisors are about to break through. He talks all the time. His latest word is dog.
Enough babbling! Here are a couple recent pics of Jacob.
This picture is on Jacob's first birthday. He is playing with the cool ball that Uncle Jeff and Aunt Janelle sent him in the mail. Unfortunately, he doesn't get to play with it a lot because Max likes it, too.
This is a picture of one of those moments that just scream,"Capture me on film!" Max hates the camera for some unknown reason, so it is very difficult to take his picture. When I saw the two of them longingly looking out the window, I snuck into the kitchen, grabbed the camera, and very stealthily snuck back into the living room to take the picture. Luckily, Max didn't notice me until well after I had taken the picture. I just love it! Priceless!!

Tubes, poor baby. My cousin Jackson (he has a link on my blog) got tubes put in his ears February 12. He was 13 months old at the time. mackenzie has battled 4 ear infections this season, but her Pedi doesn't seem concerned. We'll see... thanks for sharing the pics. Jacob is soooo big!

Gina thank you so much for posting. I try to check your blog quite frequently to catch a glimpse of your big boy and have missed seeing his smiling face. Please bring him by the office soon, I need a hug from that sweet baby boy!
