more Madewood pics

This is a late 1800's bathtub in one of the upstairs bathrooms. Adults bathed in this tub--not infants. They would fill up a pitcher of hot water and pour it in the tub. Then they would sit in the tub and take their weekly bath. You read that correctly--"weekly bath"! Yuck!
This is one of the original bricks made for the house with a slave's handprint in it.

I decided to get creative and this picture is the result. I think it turned out awesome!! This fountain is made out of a massive sugar kettle from the original sugarcane mill on the plantation. The fountain is in a courtyard that connects the main house to the Charlet House.
